FIVE-AXIS MACHINES

Simco

The machines of the CSC-5XX series are universal five-axis devices that enable bending of various types of cylindrical, conical springs and some torsion springs. They are equipped with five computer controlled axes. The first one is responsible for the wire feeding by feeding rollers clamped on the wire, the second one drives the tool for the initial bend, the third and fourth one are responsible for the movement of the upper and lower sliders, and the fifth one controls the tool responsible for the outer diameter of the spring. The number of pairs of feed rollers varies from model to model and depends on the range of diameters of wires that a given bending machine can bend.

The main advantages of five-axis machines in comparison to alternative two-axis machines are:

  • independent movement of individual tools;
  • greater flexibility;
  • shorter time of adjustment;
  • auto-editing function supporting programming;
  • faster and quieter work.
  • CSC-508 (wire Ø: 0.1-0.8mm, max spring outer dia: 20mm)
  • CSC-516 (wire Ø: 0.7-1.8mm, max spring outer dia: 40mm)
  • CSC-532 (wire Ø: 1.4-3.2mm, max outer spring dia: 50mm)

The minimum spring form factor for all CSC series machines is: 4.

The machines are offered with an automatic wire unwinding system from the coil.

As standard, the CSC-5 bending machines are equipped with a special attachment and, after adding special tools and a touch probe, they can also be used for bending torsion springs. For customers requiring high precision, we also offer an inductive spring length detection probe, along with an automatic sorter that separates the correct springs from too long and too short springs. Additionally, the induction probe works with the control system of bending machine, which automatically corrects the length of the spring. Alternatively, it is also possible to equip the machine with a camera for visual inspection of the spring geometry.
